Social Media (current work)
I am the content creator for Gloria Dei’s social media presence as the full-time Communications Director. I brainstorm ideas, create communication plans for events and ideas for the church, take photos, create graphics, and write the copy.
I am the part-time social media lead for Brighter Tomorrows. I brainstorm ideas to share the mission of the organization on Facebook. I work alongside a board member and operations coordinator to create a social media strategy. Once developed, I create the graphics and write the initial draft of copy.
Website (current work)
I manage the website content, updating when necessary. This involves taking photos to replace old ones, working with colleagues to re-write or update content, and using data from Google Analytics to shift content to best meet the apparent needs of the website users.
My personal website that I use to direct potential graphic freelance clients. I built this website using the Genesis framework in WordPress. I edited the CSS to match my brand.
I built this website for the Grief Coalition of Southeast Minnesota using the Catch Everest Pro theme in WordPress. I maintain and update content for this site on a volunteer-basis, as needed.
I built this landing page for an event last fall. This was built using Mailchimp. I designed the page and wrote the content with the input of the event creator. Photos were provided by a local photographer and I created the graphics.
In my position at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, I build a storyboard for each issue of the this quarterly newsletter. It is intended to be a story-telling, value-added piece of communication. I delegate story writing to coworkers, manage photography, and write stories. I layout each page and work with a local printing vendor on the timeline of the project.
The blog built into the Gloria Dei website is the home for long(er) form articles. This can include re-purposing Quarterly newsletter articles, and new ones. This is where many social media and email newsletter posts are directed to for more information.
